I ended up taking sides with Zepplin. Here are a couple from both. ENJOY! Oh, and don't forget, only 10 downloads for each song, so, be one of those 10.

definition of local legend

Although he's been in summit county for the better half of the last decade Chad Otterstrom is a minnesota boy through and through. Nicest guy you'll ever meet and he's been killing it for years. I mean come on, Technical Difficulties, the Revival, Video Gangs, Keep Talking, just to name a few. Click the snow to check out a recent interview with Chopper over at Yobeat

Tuesday Tuneday

"If you ain't got no money, you got the blues," Howlin' Wolf. Blues music has been around since the late 1800's from Mississippi John Hurt, and W.C. Handy to Son House and, Robert Johnson. There is still a lot of good blues music today, it just advanced a LOT. Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, CCR (Blues Rock) all use blues scales and the blues progression. Most people are more familiar with Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, SRV as the "knew age blues music." There is/was a reason why these artists have been so big and popular. They followed previous musicians, studied them, pioneered there music and created a little different feel to there bands... Basically you gotta steal music and recreate it in your own way... Here are 5 songs to download.

Interview: Corey Duffel

(John) So, Mr. Corey Duffel, you have A LOT of fans out there, over 24 thousand friends on myspace, and just overall a very recognizable person, tell all of the kids out there (who want what you have) what its like...)

(Corey) 24 thousand huh. id say thats not nearly enough. id like about a million more. Im just kidding. Im sure there is only about 30 of them who ever even contact me though. I am only recognizable due to my absurd dress and the hijinx that lurks around me. But for all the kids who would like what i have. Ill let you have all my pain. My body is so utterly broken it hurts to get up in the morning. I cant use my wrists at all anymore. Not having wrists in operating condition sucks. All the little things i miss. like making a mask around my eyes with fingers and so forth. However having such nice hair and lovely black jeans, thats killer. just kidding. anybody can have what i have. Throw your body on to the concrete and and find some dark wave bands to listen to.

Pop shuvin' to flat

(John) You got that knew clothing line, DeathBeat, pretty cool stuff, I recognized the black cat from a cover of a really old Boris Karloff movie (awsome by the way) what made you wanna start that up? What can we expect in the future with Deathbeat?

(Corey) That is really cool you noticed the Black Cat. Everything to due with Death Beat is inspired by the horror cult and danse macabre vibe. I am in love with eerie and dark stuff. so being able to create everything i want is great. It may not be a brand for everyone. But every child or adult that can express with death and music and so forth can relate to it and be apart of it. I am hoping that someday in the next year i really get the brand out there. Right now its me doing the entire thing with the help of my GF Rachel. So it is pretty hard. I have a full time occupation that consumes my days and nights. BUt Id like to get DB into stores around the world and have it recognized someday. Right now, im hoping my street brigade is out there repping the stuff and getting the name out. I hope it always remains DIY and cult though. It be great to see it huge but i always want the roots of my brand and ideas to stay core.

Coming Soon

(John) There was that skate movie with you and Nuge, and Slash I think... it was suppose to premier last Halloween I think... what happened with that? Where did the footy go?

(Corey) Well it was for the brand split that is now a lost sunken ship. The video was to be called Demons In The Attic. Which is alyric from a Roky Erickson song. The video was fully produced and on dvd. but 2 weeks before all hallows eve Split pulled the plug on their operations. The team decided we did not want the video to be seen. Nuge and I shared a part. It was a really fun and cool part. My footage got divided up among some of my sponsors and went as bonus footy in the TWS video Right Foot Forward. I still have a few things that never got used, but now I feel with the progression of skating, they are too weak to be seen in a part. Maybe someday ill post my part youtube. or deathbeatsite.com

(John) Halloween was just a bit ago, I know you where excited, what was on the Duffmans agenda?

(Corey) Halloween is my favourite time of the year. It is when the weather cools down, the nights get longer, the leaves begin to fall and smells in the air are so pleasant. But unfortunatly this year I caught the flu the night before, and I had to keep very quiet. I had my house very dazzled up. Rachel and I made it like a haunted house for trick or treater, but we did not even get one kid asking for candy. So Halloween was a blow out. I dressed as Duffman and Rachel went as Peter Criss

Corey Halloween 08'

(John) Do you own a fog machine?

(Corey) ground fogger, a fog bubble machine that is very cool. and 2 normal foggers. I love having the house in such dense fog. It really bums the dogs out though.

(John) What was it like meeting Roky Erickson?

(Corey) Very interesting. It wa an honor to meet some one of such genius. I was very excited. He is a very down to earth aand humble being. His friends and family were very kind for arranging that for me. I was so stoked/ He called me zombie boy.

Roky and Zombie Boy

(John) Whats the next video your going to be filming for?

(Corey) I believe foundation is in the works of one right now, or is about to start working on one. The rest of the team is looking good, but i have no footage at all. Im coming in weak these days. I gotta get healthy and find some new spots.

(John) Give us a short run down of a day in the life with the hardcorey?

(Corey) It is a surprise to many that i wake up about 8 am. I get up and take the dogs out to piss, while they are pissing im doing the same thing. I pee by my japanese maple naked every morning. I then voyage into the kitchen. check some stuff out on the computer while watching a dvr recording of king of the hill or Xmen. I normally than complain about how hungry I am. and I never have food at my house, so i finally leave the house to find something to eat. Im in debate with food everyday, so i go to the old stand bys. donut king and wendys.
I normally skate in the afternoon, but ive been hurt, so now im just working on stuff for death beat. I spend my days at home lurking. I like to watch lots of cartoons on tv and nap. I will go outside and play frisbee with the dogs too. Night time i never do anything but listen to records and snack on food. Im a waste of time, an utter bore. Fall asleep on the couch every night watching a shitty movie.

This could very well be at 8 in the morning...

(John) Are you ever going to bleach your hair all white?

(Corey) When i listen to the police enough and get motivated again i will have a bleached mullet like sting. I did it a few months back and i was proud to say it was all for the Ace face.

(John) Any last words?

(Corey) Everyone who has ever helped me at all, thanks.

Thanks to Corey for taking the time on this. I'd have to say best interview so far. 1817's always on Duffmans side. ALSO, check out some Duffel actions at the Metro Board shop Ebay site.

Ummmmm......okay...... Lets see here, AC/DC is high energy rock n' roll. There best album was "Back in Black" which was a tribute to Bon Scott. Back in Black sold around 49 million copies, making it the 2nd best selling album (Micheal Jacksons Thriller #1) of all time. Whenever your down, when ever you wanna skate with some tude' basically, if you just wanna feel literally like theres electricity in your body.... listen to AC/DC. Here are my 5 favorites as of right now, listen to them probably once a day at least, and you should too. (They all include Bon Scott aka the original vocalist)

These songs can be downloaded 10 times each, so don't wait!

Halloween 2009

The third annual Trannysylvania was definitely the best so far. The costumes were on, the beer was flowing, and the fog was thick. tricks were thrown down, people were packed to the wall, people got drunk, people got hurt, all in all it could not have been better. Taking home awards were Mikey for best trick (tre flip fakie) Victor for best costume (cross dressing super fan) and best of show (Cody)

a special thanks goes out to Zach Snow and Ricky Tucker for hosting the event. thanks to all who made it out. it's gonna be hard to top next year.
